Not a competition.
Not about perfection - or even realism!
Just a simple challenge to scratch build something small and fun, and enjoy the process of modelling - which we all know is great for our mental health.
Deadline: 24th March 2026
All you have to do....
Build a model of a structure you'd find in a garden using everyday items you'd find around the house (basic modelling materials are also okay).
It could be a shed, a gazebo, a chicken coop! Let your imagination run riot!
Build it in the scale of your own layout or diorama - or why not try a scale you've never modelled in before?

Then...
Send us 2 - 3 photos of your model along with a brief description, and a list of the materials you used.
Send them to modelrailwayquest@gmail.com.

The Rules
Scale:
Whatever you fancy but why not build something to put on your own layout or diorama?
Materials:
Modelling bits and bobs you have at hand: i.e. cardboard, matchsticks, coffee stirrers, wire, dried rice, beans etc.
❌ NO:
Shop-bought finished pieces (i.e. trees, hedges, walls, whole buildings!), and
❌ NO:
3-D printed models or components.
Remember, this is building as much as possible from scratch.
Deadline: Midnight, Tuesday 24th March
