The Wednesday Express (Not Stopping at Peterborough) - Highlights

Well, we were all in high spirits yesterday evening weren't we? Yes, it was another jaunt on the Wednesday Express (Not Stopping at.... you know where).

If you missed us, you can find the replay on the channel by clicking the link below, but hurry as this will become a members' only video in a few days.

Watch the replay:

As promised, I'll post all the links I mentioned in the live, below, as well as photos.

Tech issues meant that some viewers experienced buffering during the live as I uploaded photos, but this will all be fixed by next week as.... drum roll... I'm switching to a streaming platform that will allow me to post photos, show videos and have guests on the show.

All very exciting and something I've been aiming for since starting first the weekly updates and then the lives, to create and produce an all-round weekly model railway show.

And we'll be having our very first WENS@P guest on the show next week (20th Nov) - so make sure you tune in. I'll be posting the link on the Facebook page and YouTube Questie Clubroom by Tuesday at the latest

TOLWORTH SHOWTRAIN - FAVOURITE LAYOUTS

So first up, my favourite layouts at the Tolworth Showtrain, starting with:

Wisteria Collop by Dave Simpson

A fabulous 009 layout by Dave Simpson. The name is an anagram of three model railway manufacturers. Can you guess which three? Answer revealed in the livestream!

Dave has also recently completed his 19in x 16in layout Worthless Farm Festival - is that another slight play on words relating to a certain music festival beginning with G?

And you can find that here:

Dillmouth by Phil Harding

Another favourite at the show - this fantastic O gauge layout by O Gauge Phil (Phil Harding) is named after the location in the Agatha Christie novel Sleeping Murder. A hugely impressive layout, not least the fiddle yard which Phil designed and built himself. You can find more details about the layout and that fiddle yard on his RM web page.

And lastly, two EM gauge layouts that caught my eye: Kinmundy from the Southampton Model Railway Society and Lochty by Andy Cundick. Take a look.

Also at Tolworth... I noticed a lady with a small notebook painting a little sketch of the Thomas layout next to Brief Encounter. She told me that she's painted one small painting a day for the last 9 years - filling 108 notebooks!

Here's her painting and she cound be found on instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/simonekay22222

November is National Model Railroad Month in the US - organised by the NMRA.

I particularly love all the suggestions and tips they have on how to promote model railways to friends, colleagues and family. When I asked our viewers whether they'd like to have a National Model Railway Month here in the UK - the answer was a resounding Yes!

You can find out more about what the NMRA does and how to become a member here: https://www.nmra.org/

The NMRA is present in 17 regions around the world - find out more here: https://www.nmra.org/regions
